Cultivator at Bray Grove Farm presents:

Susannah Papish

Melissa Potter

Memorial Day - Monday, May 27, 2024

Cultivator is pleased to present Susannah Papish’s painting and Melissa Potter’s papermaking during Bray Grove Farm’s Spring Farm Day. Join us on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27th from 2-5pm.

Susannah Papish and Melissa Potter embrace the farm’s philosophy of resourcefulness and harmony by tapping into the farm’s assets for their materials. Like papermakers in India who use elephant dung to create paper, Potter employed the vegetarian diets of our draft mules, Loretta and Annabelle. Their digestive system provided the first step in the papermaking process . Susannah Papish used Potter’s handmade substrate for her paintings influenced by native plants. With the assistance of the farm’s six ducks, she combined egg yolks with pigment to create egg tempera.

Please rsvp and join us on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27th from 2-5pm for art, conversation, light refreshments, and a day on our small holistic farm. Bray Grove Farm is located 70 miles southwest of Chicago in Grundy County. To confirm your attendance and receive directions and parking information, kindly email joanne@cultivatorarts.com.
